Ellis Island

Ellis Island in New York Harbor was the gateway for millions of immigrants to the United States as the site of the nation’s busiest immigration station from 1892 to 1954. However, most of the Gregory family have arrived in the United States from Ireland prior to Ellis Island with the earliest arrivals being before the Great Potato Famine in 1846 and the latest in the 1880’s. Since Ellis Island requires all passengers to pass through, including US citizens, this list is of descendants who are returning from trips abroad.
