Boys of County Armagh
April 19, 2008
The Boys of the County Armagh
Theres one fair county in Ireland
With memories so glorious and grand
Where nature has lavished its bounty
At the orchard of Erins green land
I love its cathedral and city
Once founded by Patrick so true
And there in the heart of its bosom
Lie the ashes of Brian Boru
Its my own Irish home
Far across the foam
Although I’ve often left it
In a foreign land to roam
No matter where I wander
Through cities near or far
Sure me heart’s at home in old Ireland
In the county of Armagh
I’ve travelled through parts of the county
Through Newtown, Forkhill, Crossmaglen
And round by the gap of Mountnorris
And home by Blackwater again
Where the girls are so gay and so hearty
None fairer in Erin go Bragh
But where are the boys that can court them
Like the boys from the county Armagh
Its my own Irish home
Far across the foam
Although I’ve often left it
In a foreign land to roam
No matter where I wander
Through cities near or far
Sure me heart’s at home in old Ireland
In the county of Armagh
All-Ireland Football Semi-Final

Vincent’s Victors Against Cross
St. Vincent beat Crossmaglen 2-9 to 0-11 in Sunday’s AIB All-Ireland Club semi-final at Navan played on 24 Feb 2008.
Brian Maloney’s second-minute goal and Tomas Quinn’s strike helped the Dublin outfit lead 2-8 to 0-4 at half-time.
Helped by the breeze, Cross cut the lead in the second half but they never really looked like getting on terms.
St Vincent’s set up a decider against Nemo Rangers with a degree of comfort despite scoring one second-half point.
Crossmaglen hit five points without reply in the final 20 minutes of the match but without a goal, they were never scoring points at a fast enough rate to get back on terms.
