This Gallery is a collection of photos of the September 2005 Trip to Ireland.

The 2005 Reunion
On 24 September 2005, the Gregory Family from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean shook hands for the first time in generations.

There would have been little hope of the families ever reuniting except for a single headstone in Calvary Cemetery, Chicago, IL. This headstone, etched with the birth place of John Gregory, provided the key connection to Creggan Parish, County Armagh. This information along with John (Jack) Gregory’s circa 1968 research provided all the confirmation needed.

The 2007 Tour
Arriving just in time to experience St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin and to see the Crossmaglen Rangers battle to a draw in the GAA Final, the Yankees return to the homeland.

Chicago Gregory’s
Early photographs of the Gregory Family that resided in Chicago, IL, USA. These are the descendants of John Gregory, who was born in Creggan Parish, near Crossmaglen in 1822. In 1844, he emigrated to New York and eventualy settled in Chicago by 1857.

Amboy Gregory’s
Early photographs of the Gregory Family that resided in Amboy, IL, USA. These are the descendants of James and Francis Gregory who left Ireland at about the same time as their brother John, but opted to reside in the farming and railroad town of Amboy, IL in 1850.
