Notes - He was residing with parents and going to school in Amboy, IL according to the 1880 Census. Resided on Blackstone Street in Amboy after his marriage in 1892. In 1900, resided at 1407 Mulberry Street in Rockford, IL with Alice, Maurice & Edward.
From The Rockford Morning Star, 8 Nov 1910:
“Joseph Gregory Dies
Had Been Ill But Five Days of Pneumonia
Joseph Gregory, a traveling salesman, residing two miles west of the city, died at his home yesterday morming at 6 o’clock after five days’ illness of pneumonia.
Mr. Gregory was born in Amboy, Ill., and was 46 years old October 29. He had lived in Rockford for eighteen years and had traveled for Bell & Co., a Chicago tea and coffee firm for seven years. He leaves a widow and three sons, Morris, Edmund, and Paul. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Modern Woodmen of America, and the United Commercial Travelers.”
Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock from St. Mary’s church and interment will be in St. Mary’s cemetery.” [1, 3, 5]
